In kayak from Rio Dulce to Livingston
We are back from our Kayak trip down the Rio Dulce to Livingston.

We took the expedition Kayak on the longest trip that we have made in a kayak.
The trip was not as easy as we thought it to be but it was neither all that hard.
The first day we went from Fronteras/Rio Dulce and down to the eco hotel Finca Tatin. We started the day early and where all set to go about 8:30 by 5:30 that afternoon we reached our goal. Bit tired and craving for a cold beer and a hamaca to rest in. There was no wind on the way so we got not to test the new home made sail that we had made.

The hotel or Cabana that we got at the Tatin is really nice even though there are no hot shower as electricity is limited there and partly by Solar cells partly by generator in the evenings. Staying there is though relaxing and nice.
The day after we paddled again up stream to Texan bay to grab what is said to be the best hamburgers on the Rio Dulce area. Unfortunately they where out of buns bud we had fine burger in toasts and in stead of paddling further and go to the hot springs we staid there towards the dark and had a chat and beer with english couple that was there.

We did have a good breakfast before starting the journey down to Livingston and took a good time getting there. It was a bit of a problem finding a hotel that we where willing to accept the price of and was willing to take the dog. In the end we gave up and got a room at the worst flee-bag motel I have ever staid in. Terrible place called HB Maya.
As we had been stupid enough to forget the bag for the Kayak in Finca Tatin we needed to go back there. There really was not but one way, paddle back. Before we decided to take a stroll around in Livingston. That turned out to be a bit long walk but it changed my view on Livingston from not interesting to fine town.

Once we had started the paddling back we noticed a boat marked Finca Tatin by one of the hotels. We stopped by and they said it was their boat but everybody where in town and they did not know when they would be back. We asked them to give them the message of picking us up on the way. It turned out that it was Carlos, the owner him self conducting the boat and of course he stopped for us and picked us up. We where happy as the paddle up stream was hard and there was no way of resting with out floating long way back. We had a nice evening again in Finca Tatin before taking the boat back to Rio Dulce the next day
Now we have to hurry up to Guatemala City and stop here. Some thing we had not planed as the dog is sick and there is no doctor around here. We fear she has lime disease .
