Benzi no go home :(

Benzi after I had to saw off the ignition switch
Things have not ben the way I wanted them lately and that is why there have been no updates. I have had no energy left to blog. It all started with the ignition switch going sour in Mexico and us having to stay in a garage in Oaxaca once again for longer than was expected after driving with the car hot wired for few hundred kilometers.
It is though a funny situation getting in to your car and start splicing wires to get lights on and then like a car thief slap the red and brown once to gather to start the car. I am thankful that we did not get stopped by the mexican police on the way or the army. They might not have understood the situation.
Once we got out of the garage in Oaxaca Benzi go a hick-up and as I wanted them at the garage to change all filters I was not happy. They could not because they did not have them they said. I had therefore to run all over town and find a diesel filter as I was out of the spare once. I finally found them and changed the filter but some thing more was wrong. Thankfully with a help of a good Canadian, Calvin Mackenzie , after doing changes to the fuel linings we got the car up and running.
Since then we have been driving, driving, driving and driving and it still feels we are not getting far. I have to say . Is there no way to get out of Texas!!
On top of all the other trouble, few things have started to fall of the truck. Fortunately we have lost no thing nor have we hurt any one with flying debris but it takes time away from driving or site seeing to work on these things. The truck has taken a lot of beating the last two years and it is starting to show.
You can deal with all this but on the last day in Mexico Guðný got bitten by some bug and now here foot is the size of an elephant foot and it hurts terrible.
So now we are far from where we wanted, limping along, but have finally gotten through Mexico into the states and also through Texas.
We will have to see what tricks the gods will play on us as we get further up the coast towards Boston, the morning at Lake Charles was nice.
